November 17, 2013 – Ignite Your Life

Ignite Your Life

The kingdom of Heaven is right here, right now! The truth of our reality is abundance and prosperity and we need to manifest it. If you know and experience and demonstrate the complete experience of God Almighty as our source, you will create wealth and health. Charles Fillmore said that this is not a theory, but a demonstrated fact. Now is the time to open your mind and see. It’s like air—you need to breath it in to get it. Your prosperity is yours alone and you alone must get it. It’s not about money, but God, about being in the presence of divine flow, including financial prosperity. Some don’t want money because of some things in the Bible, as “It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.” But this is a misrepresentation. Jesus was pointing out that the rich man wasn’t into God as much as he was into money.

Yes, God Is Good All The Time. Do you trust in it—like when you are cut off in traffic? Do you pause and say to yourself, “God has got this, really!” Trust the process! Focus in on the truth: the magnificence of God. Keep you eye on God more than the condition or situation. I put a bowl of my dog’s favorite food on the floor but told him to wait. His eyes stayed focused on mine and he never broke his gaze until I told him it was ok to eat. We have to stay focused on God, not the manifestation of our fears that we project into our world. Will Smith, in “Beyond Earth”, tells his son that danger is real, but fear is optional. He told his son that in the midst of danger, get grounded and take yourself out of the moment and focus on truth. You can choose not to fear by staying focused.

We have mis-programmed our subconscious, which is where the power is. The ‘chemicalization” in the subconscious is then projected into our world. When we introduce a positive thought into a sea of mis-belief and negative programming, it seems all Hell breaks loose. This is called the 2nd force. The bubbling up of the 2nd force shows what needs to be healed. It is actually a good thing because it reveals the stuff we need to heal! So say “Oh goodie! Make my day!” It’s an opportunity to grow! On the other side is healing, prosperity. Life like never before! Tap into your divine birthright. You can have Heaven on Earth right now. Say, “Oh goodie! Make my day!”

October 13, 2013 – A Consciousness of Generosity

10/13/13 Rev. David McArthur
Daily Generosity, and One Outrageous Generosity

After straightening out an order she had screwed up, a waitress continued to serve a large group cheerfully, but their “tip” was a note with a big zero and the words, “maybe you’ll get it right the next time.” What consciousness is that?! The next table had heard them preparing the “tip”, and left her a note, “Don’t let anyone take away your smile,” and a $100.00 bill! Now that was a consciousness of inclusion and creativity. The mind tells us what we get out of an experience. But the heart sees that what we give is ours.

Walking to school, a mother and her small son were reading signs. A homeless woman had a sign saying, “I am hungry and need food.” Taking half half of his sandwich from his lunchbox the boy gave it to her. Then he took his mother’s hand again and continued to school without commenting. A consciousness of generosity.

I have remembered “past lives”, if that’s what they were. I gained much from those memories. From being a war leader instrumental in spreading much human suffering to an obedient foot soldier on the front line, facing certain death. As a woman, I was abused, beaten, and raped; and as a child abandoned and starved to death. But I never experienced anything that I had not given previously. In each of those experiences there was always someone of loving generosity. These people were experiencing their spiritual selves. The more I learned of generosity from them, the more wholeness I began to experience life after life. Consciousness grows over time. Through the generosity of others I began to change. To the saying, “If you give a man a fish…” add, “If you teach a man to LOVE you feed a village for a lifetime, and they will feed the world.”

It’s like there’s a great energy that flows into the people and their lives. If there is a lack in our lives it is a reflection of a lack within ourselves. So we need to increase our generosity and be aware that we are opening our consciousness to this great energy. This week, each day, experience giving a little more, and once this week, give with outrageous generosity. Affirm with me, “Joyously and generously God’s abundance flows through me!” “Joyously and generously God’s abundance flows through me!” “Joyously and generously God’s abundance flows through me!” It does, through you!–and it’s a kick! Bless you!

August 18, 2013 – Cinderella and the Now Moment

Cinderella and the Now Moment

Cinderella, in the story, reflects our feeling (a feminine) aspect and shows us our feelings in the unfoldment of our souls. An orphan, Cinderella doesn’t really know who she is, or see herself as loved, as having value. This is one of the great challenges of the soul—we see the world “out there” as having value, but not ourselves.

The invitation to the ball, to step into something wonderful, comes from the King (a God symbol). But she feels she can’t go until everyone else is served first. Do you seek your identity by constantly serving every one else? Finally she puts on the beautiful gown she had made for herself but her step mother and step sisters tear it to shreds. How we let our lack of self worth tear our dreams to shreds! She goes to the garden, an ancient symbol of the heart. She finds the Fairy Godmother (the feminine aspect of God), and finds love and acceptance.

The horses (the ability to move through space and time to the fulfillment of self) take Cinderella to abundance, to the banquet with the King. This experience illustrates the “now moment” , when we are able to experience both the feminine and masculine aspects of God (the Fairy Godmother and the King), and it ends for Cinderella at the last stroke of midnight. So too does our experience of the now moment have an end. But we still have the beauty, the knowledge, that we are magnificent spiritual beings. Affirm, “I am a magnificent spiritual being!” “I am a magnificent spiritual being!” “I am a magnificent spiritual being!”

Pat Grabow, in The Immortal Now, says, “The transcendence is in the now. It is always occurring in the now.” You can’t get there “someday”. And you can’t stay in the now. It’s not about staying but entering in, about accepting the magnificence as the real and beautiful knowledge of self, and more: of an illumination of the moment.

The Prince (the male, the thought, the mind), knows his identity, but cannot feel it. The now moment is not found in the head, but has to be entered through the heart and the feelings (Cinderella). The glass slipper (the understanding of who we are, feeling and thought, embracing and experiencing) lets Cinderella return to the palace, to her abundance.

You are the child of a loving God, a magnificent spiritual being. And when you know it you can return to your abundance, you can go to the ball!

July 14, 2013 – Abundance Principles

Abundance Principals

You are a beautiful child of God, a beautiful spiritual being, with spiritual assignments and challenges—challenges like “not enough”. We might experience it financially and emotionally, as individuals and as a community. We might feel we are not drawing support and wisdom from family and friends. We might not be allowing ourselves to be provided for with abundance in our lives.

We have learned in our response to feelings of lack to put God first and pray. We pray to open our hearts and minds to accept the loving abundance that we know is always there. We pray to let this awareness in. “God is my instant, constant, abundant supply. I am grateful for more than enough.”

Our second response is love and appreciation. We acknowledge the loving abundance flowing into and through our lives, and appreciate the wonderful people in our lives. We have also learned that putting God first means we tithe the first ten percent, from love, and through this experience of love, all else follows.
There is also the principal of balance. We are most effective at allowing the flow of abundance in our lives when we are in balance, like not spending more than we have coming in.

The Law of Mind Action—thoughts and emotions in mind produce their kind—is referred to by Eric Butterworth in Spiritual Economics, “If ever there is lack of any kind, whether it is a need for employment, or money, or for guidance, or even healing, something is blocking the flow. And the most effective remedy: Give!” Give!—change from the feeling of lack to the feeling of rich abundance. It is a different, powerful state of consciousness. In his book Prosperity, Charles Fillmore says, “God is the divine givingness of the universe. In your spiritual quest you are striving to establish alignment with that givingness.”

Spirit understands that we want to see proof. Some see it quickly, others not so. This is not a magic bullet. It comes according to one’s alignment to universal laws of abundance. Step into the alignment of consciousness with that divine givingness. Give from the never ending flow of God’s goodness. “God is my instant, constant, abundant supply. I am grateful for more than enough, for more wisdom, creative opportunity, beautiful peace, and love to heal all that stands in the way of abundance!” Bless you!

July 7, 2013 – Freedom From Not Enough

Freedom From Not Enough

As spiritual beings we have access to an experience which can completely free us. Jesus said it this way, “Know the truth and the truth will set you free,” and “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and …all these things will be given unto you.” Viktor Frankl said it in Man’s Search For Meaning, “…Love is the ultimate and highest goal… The salvation of man is through love and in love… Man can, through loving contemplation… achieve fulfillment… ‘The angels are lost in perpetual contemplation of an infinite glory.’ ” To be in that state of appreciation!

That is your capacity to be free, to touch that love regardless of what’s happening on the outside. Knowing this is experiencing the reality within that God is love; your love is God. Seeing transcendence of limitations within helps us see the amazing power we have.

Outward conditions are reflections of our own limitations. We are caught in a world of emotions and judgments that sometimes what we have is not enough—not enough harmony, vitality, or money. In our spiritual community now we have the state of consciousness that there is not enough money. But we can bring wholeness into expression; we can transform these things together. And in our personal lives as well. Change your consciousness first. Go into prayer. In Unity we don’t ask a God “out there” to intervene in a situation we think He didn’t know anything about. It is not as if our abundance is not here; we know everything needed already exists in the spiritual realm. We pray to open ourselves to it. “God is our instant, constant, abundant supply.” Otherwise you focus on something which is not the truth.

Considering the hours spent by our generous congregants in preparing the beautiful music we enjoy, the systems which let us hear it, and see it online, and considering those whose financial commitments renewed and continue to support our beautiful facilities, where’s the lack? Move from “not enough” to “more than enough”! Don’t even consider “just enough”. There is always more of the divine which wants to move through you! (Abundance does not come to you but through you!) Because we are one, what comes to one of us comes to all. Repeat, I am grateful for more than enough! I am grateful for more than enough! I am grateful for more than enough! There is an infinite power setting you free now. Freedom is a good thing. Enjoy more than enough!

April 28, 2013 – Moving From Lack to More Than Enough

4/28/13 Rev. David McArthur
Moving From Lack To More Than Enough

One day some men showed up at Charles Fillmore’s door to repossess his printing press. He quickly told them, “I have a rich Father”, so they left. At that moment he had made a spiritual connection. He had been in the consciousness of lack, but moved to one of more than enough. Many of us have a consciousness of “just barely making it”, but part of our work as spiritual beings is to be an instrument through which blessings flow in abundance. We can make very powerful changes within ourselves—spiritual transformations—like an amazing journey from not enough to more than enough.

We all know the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Another time, the disciples had been fishing but had caught none. Jesus commanded them to cast their net once more. It was filled to overflowing. In both instances change occurred when the disciples, who represent the different faculties and capacities with in us, turned their focus on Jesus. He symbolizes the Christ consciousness, the Atman, the Buddha mind. The fish represent divine idea, which are pulled from the water (the subconscious) out into manifestation. Pulled from within us, a change of consciousness moves from spiritual energy or substance into manifestation. The Higgs-boson particle, called the God particle, is the scientific version of pulling from the spiritual into the manifest form so we can put it to work in our lives. We do it with the power of emotion, of love, of the divine presence within. In the presence of love, limitations don’t exist. Love dissolves all that is unlike itself. Limitations lose their power.

Move from lack to more than enough. Remove the limits in your life—it’s just time for them to go. Then support each other by changing consciousness for each other, and remove the limits in our community. It takes focus and intention. For two weeks, take 15 minutes each day to say, I Am Loving (enter into the experience of feeling love for another); I Am Loved (you are so deeply loved; so completely, without conditions; you are the beautiful child of God); I Am Love (it’s who you are; you carry it where ever you go; it is in you, for you). Let love’s power be in you.

I am loving. I am loved. I am love. When you do that and are in that love, whatever is needed will be met, because you “have a rich Father”!
